The Mentoring Effect

December 2014

Without an adult role model, who are youth turning to for answers? The Mentoring Effect report shows one in three youth will reach age 19 without the benefit of a mentoring relationship. Caring and consistent adults are needed more than ever to help keep at-risk youth on the right path and out of the juvenile justice system. Mentors can help make communities safer by encouraging positive youth behavior and promoting non-participation in criminal activity.

Watch this short film, produced by Esquire, where prisoners speak out about how a positive mentor might have made all the difference in their lives.
