Update December 19, 2011
Dear Friends,
Over the last month, the Illinois Mentoring Partnership has continued to make exciting progress. Each and every day, we are building support and securing new funders and partners.
Since we last updated you, the global philanthropic organization The MacArthur Foundation and Chicago-based trading firm X-FA have both agreed to be principle funders of the Partnership through 2014! This is very exciting news and we are so pleased to have their support.
Additionally, over the next month we will be finalizing our Providers Council and Steering Committee boards. The Providers Council members will largely be comprised of funders and donors, while the Steering Committee will mostly consist of direct service providers. These two boards will be our eyes and ears on the ground, and will ensure the Partnership reflects the needs of Illinois’ mentoring service providers.
Lastly, this upcoming January marks National Mentoring Month. To help raise awareness and celebrate this occasion, MENTOR is hosting the 2012 National Mentoring Summit, which will be held in Washington D.C. While we are currently unable to provide scholarships for this event, we sincerely hope you will consider joining us in Washington. We thank you again for your continued interest and support of the Illinois Mentoring Partnership.
Sincerely,
Ellen Christman
