Child Abuse Prevention and Sexual Assault Awareness

Young people deserve to feel safe and protected by the adults in their lives. But far too many of our nation’s youth witness and experience different forms of violence throughout their childhood. Mentors have the power to identify signs of abuse, intervene appropriately, and connect their mentees with the resources and professionals who can best help them throughout the healing process. Below is a collection of resources, trainings, and guides that adults and programs can use to support young people affected by trauma.

National Suicide Prevention Awareness

From global pandemics to widespread inequities to the toxic side of social media, young people today face an unprecedented number of challenges. And, perhaps unsurprisingly, rates of mental health emergencies have risen dramatically over the past decade. In 2018, suicide was the second leading cause of death for young people between the ages of 10 and 24. This crisis in child and adolescent mental health warrants an urgent response.
