Supporting Indigenous Youth

By creating safe spaces where young people can ask questions, voice their ideas, and connect with others, mentorship can promote the celebration of diverse cultures and traditions, raise awareness about systems of oppression and current political issues, and drive identity exploration. When engaging with Indigenous youth, it is critical that mentors and mentoring programs recognize the power of a positive relationship and are intentional in their efforts to elevate and support their mentees.
