During Thank Your Mentee Month, we celebrate the reciprocal nature of this connection by encouraging mentors to share how they’ve been impacted by the young people in their lives. Gratitude Thought Starters – whether you love to journal or prefer to sit quietly with your thoughts, the questions below are a great way to prompt some Thank Your Mentee inspired reflection.

How have you grown or changed since becoming a mentor?
What has your mentee taught you?
How has your perspective shifted since becoming a mentor/forming a relationship with a young person?
Think of a young person in your life (outside your family). Why is that relationship important to you?

Gratitude Box – Do you have a long list of things you love about your mentee? Write them all down on different pieces of paper, put them in a box, jar, or envelope, then share with your mentee so that they can pull one out whenever they need a reminder of the positive ways they impact others.

Print out one of these cards and write a message to your mentee to let them know how much you appreciate their presence in your life!
